Sherman Tig (Jasic in disguise?)

What manual is that from? Can't see it in the jasic manual

As above, also the manual I got with the Sherman was all Polish so no idea if it is there or not.
The RazorWeld manual is actually more comprehensive than the Jasic for a lot of things and it says as per pic below but whether the Sherman is the same or for that matter the original Jasic, I have no idea.
I suppose it is just a case of try and see.

I guess there may be some people who went for the GreyEagles deal, had their paypal accepted, but heard nothing back (except up there ^^ where someone asked and was told 6-8 weeks) . Are most people just sitting tight, or have people cancelled (and how did that go)?

I ordered on Sunday, but haven't heard anything apart from the automated acknowledgement, so I sent them an email last night asking for an update, seeing as the acknowledgement said they were in stock and would be dispatched in 24h. No response yet but will update as and when i hear back...

Just wired up a torch with a pot on it and I think I have it correct, will have to double check but the pot function is not working for me. Why I have no idea but the buttons didn't work for me either so possibly mine has an issue with remotes. Not that I am really that bothered but would still be good to have that capability.

BTW I tried activating the remote in both 2T and 4T so it is not that.

Did the remote light come on at all or are you just getting nothing?
My pedal definitely worked on straight ac, 2T. Don't know if the display altered with the pedal but when welding could certainly bump the current up and down

Just a thought, seen you managed to rejig and trouble shoot on your jasic plasma thread, so this is probably unlikely.
But is it maybe wired back to front? Jasic schematic shows socket, plug will be the other way round looking from the front. Only part that would matter is the pot hight and low

Just had an email from my friend who would have been one of the first to order from greyeagle site, he emailed them yasterday to ask for info on when it would be delivered and they said 4-5 weeks
He has cancelled so is on the search again.

No idea, the one I have tried is a Parweld, 5K pot, also tried with the 3 button insert and couldn't get that to work either.

Ah ok, maybe the display doesn't change but current does, if that is the case then not much use for a torch pot as you have no real idea where it is set at first but I will try and see if I get a chance.

Ok, well not sure what is normal with a pedal as I never use one. With the pot on the torch which should basically be the same as a foot pedal, as far as the machine is concerned,my Stealth and the previous few Tigs I have had the current changes on the display as you turn the pot. You set a max current on the display before welding via the dial then as you adjust the pot it changes the display.

I see, I feel I need to have a play later tonight..
Only issue with the pedal is the first movement triggers the welder, can temporarily disable the trigger to see if the pot on its own does anything.

I've been using the pedal a lot recently as ally is a right pain to control the heat input. The same thoughts about a HUD crossed my mind too.

Here is how it works on the Stealth.
Turn pot on torch to Max so the display on the welder will be for torch Max. You can adjust what that max will then be by adjusting the dial on the welder and then altering the pot will go between min and the max you ave just set.
The video shows me setting various max currents via the dial and then adjusting via the pot.

Ok that's interesting. On the Sherman, I can confirm that mine didn't do that (i.e. update the display) on the pedal (as per Chris's and your own experiences with the pot on torch) - i.e. the display showed a set value, not changing except by the rotary encoder on the panel.

However, the pot is having an effect as it's altering the min you can set in AC mode, as you may remember from about 5-6 pages back.

I could've sworn that I'd read in the manual that was how it was supposed to behave.

However, pulling the latest Jasic manual (which has been updated since last time), it says it should show the set welding current - though is a little ambiguous as to how this occurs. One sentence says "when the remote is pressed" (i.e. torch trigger, so shows *set* current), whereas the next sentence says "displays actual welding current" (i.e. it's behaving like an ammeter - so you'd need the arc to be struck).

If it's the latter, the Sherman *might* do that - I've never looked at it whilst trying the pedal *with an arc*

I ordered on Sunday, and also had the automated reply, which doesn’t mention a delivery date. It does say my order is No is 24 (seems a bit of a low number, wonder how long Greyeagle have been in business...). Be interesting to compare order numbers with you and Hood’s mate.
I am inclined to hang on for a while, I’ve got plenty to occupy myself with in the meantime, maybe learning Polish would be useful..
