Let me know what you think of it when you have had a blast
Go on do it, you know you want too. But what to buy is the same difficult question it was when I bought mine 10 years ago.I've never a tually welded with a tig before just fancy one,

Have a run down to Carlisle, Thomas Grahams, have Jasics you can look at / test.I've never a tually welded with a tig before just fancy one,

May I point out, you are looking at this all wrong. You are in farming, an essential industry, tools are an addiction, so you have two very justifiable reasons to be out buying tools.Carlisle is a fair trek for me, by time we're allowed to go out on tour ill probably be flat out at work. By time we're quieter at work it'll be November so I'll either be able to go for a look or idea will have passed.
Just watch that you don't spend £550 on a machine that sits for 12 months then lets the smoke out on first use when you actually need itI've never a tually welded with a tig before just fancy one,

Ever since Retired's Parweld TIG blew it's capacitors after a period of storage I have worried about this aspect of inverter welders, especially since I have two inverter MMA sets that I bought ten years ago but have never used. I know the good ones have a soft-start circuit ( one of them is a Silverline so that won't apply ! ), but I do now plan to wind them up slowly on a Variac, to allow the capacitors time to reform.sits for 12 months then lets the smoke out on first use when you actually need it
Lol at the minimum . I hammered 50 ltr in a week when I was practising at the start . I just have a 20 and 30 now so always have one when the other one being filled
edit - Ok, reality check, £485!!! time to look rent free...
Ok forget that last post, should have read the text directly below
I suppose it is probably meant for new people to Tig, gives them a visual indication of whether they are way out of a tungstens comfort zone.Yes it's a tell tale for the correct ish amp range for the tungsten you are using.
It is pointless in my eyes as doesn't stop it welding or matter really if you tell it your using a 1.6mm and use a 2.4mm
Been trying my hardest to resist.
Ha ha I will be able to try it out in Arbroath soon enoughIf you happen to somehow end up on the west coast, for business purposes of course, you are welcome to try it out, and maybe show me how to use it. While keeping 2m away
