I can appreciate your reservations; I think all of us from the UK bought them knowing the implication of not having any local or national support.

Not in the uk but not in poland either. But if i read the message of weldes right if the welder has some problem they collect the welder and return it free of charge. Can anyone confirm that

We have 2-year warranty.

So when something is broken, there is just to let me know with address on email and we send the GLS collection. After we receive welder it's depends from Sherman (Tecweld) how quick they fix it. Usually it's couple days, but not more than 2 weeks. After fix we send it back to customer. Delivery European Union -> Poland and Poland -> European Union it's free.

I was looking at the earth clamp on Sherman it's Not junk but it's nothing that I was expecting on a 1000 euros Device. Even at a special price. A 10 euro clamp is better.
I seen the same model as Savarog on russia ,jasic in the checz republic, rolux in Portugal, metal something in spain.

By the way anyone Has Chinese ties? I was wondering what brands do the Chinese use. As I see the only two brands that give some kind of quality above junk are jasic and rilon aka riland. Anyone knows more brands?

So yesterday I started a thread asking for recommendations for £1000+ AC/DC TIG, I had no idea a suitable set was available at sub £500 - looks like I'll be ordering a Sherman 206P!

I found that the PP checkout was not working as well - about an hour ago. Not fussed as if it is straight Paypal as opposed to using a credit card through PP then I am not interested - won't touch them with a bargepole. Did it by bank transfer, not difficult these days.

As might be assumed from my post above I have also bitten the bullet and bought a Sherman 206P. Will now have to try and remember what I did in my welding class about 8 years ago! In the meantime a few noobie questions:
1. Any recommendations on gas? On my MIG I have an Albee bottle - it was donated to me and refills used to be not too bad but I notice my local supplier has ditched Albee and gone over to Adams. Still seems quite expensive.
2. Any recommendations on masks? Any different for TIG? At the welding class the TIG masks were different but that might just have been keeping them cleaner. Suspect as with TIG machines technology has moved on in 8-10 years!
3. Tungstens, rods and torches (having seen the preference for flexi heads in this thread)? Nearly always used Weldequip for my MIG stuff - not a**e licking but they always did the job.
Apologies if these questions are already answered in the thread, but I read pages 1-14 last night then went 74 downwards for a couple of pages and was knackered by then! Will only be doing aluminium, that was the reason for purchase.

I've pulled the trigger on one too - bank transfer and like @Gopherit also a newb to TIG, though I do MIG. I believe I'm going to need the following:

• TIG gloves - obviously the MIG ones are a little too bulky (suggestions)?
• Regulator (guessing I could use my MIG one if pushed)
• Flowmeter
• Tungsten (believe the welder comes with a sample)?
• Rods (from reading this thread - yes all 74 pages, 2.4mm sounds a good start on 3mm Al)

A one stop shop for the above would be good, any suggestions?

Last week I had some stick welding to do. I'd normally have used my old ESAB Caddy 2200i DC tig welder as the DC source to do this, but I'd lent it out to a friend. Thought I'd try the Sherman 206P instead - and wow nicest stick welding I've ever produced. I've always used Oerlikon Fincord M rods so that isn't a factor in the results. The slag was either dropping or lifting off and the weld beads below were really shiny. Of course I'm assuming that's a good thing .

And a plug or adaptor will run fine on 13amp as long as you dont turn the amps right up. Should really be on 16amp plug.
But I have one here and haven’t put it on yet I’m just using an adapter all good so far. You won’t regret the Sherman amazing welder for the money.

I'm think the initial error was 403, after that it wouldn't progress any further than the PayPal CAPTCHA or it would land me on my PayPal dashboard. I tried on Firefox, Chrome and Android mobile - all with the same result.

Paid by bank transfer in the end but guess that's slower.

Same as @daedalusminos: no further than Paypal Captcha which just buffered. Actually glad it didn't work, because as I said in post if it's straight Paypal I don't have an account now and I won't sign up.
@www_weldes_de - Doing Bank Transfer there was, unlike a transfer in the UK, there was no place to put in the reference so I put it in the box that said "Message to beneficiary". Hopefully you'll sort it out!

Im also looking at these, but I cant see much difference in spec between the ac models or the dc only models. I would like AC but Im not decided yet.
I would like pulse and ability to use foot pedal. Is there a standard connector for foot pedals? Some look like 2 pin others 14 pin? What are the extra 12 pins for?

This threads got a bit bloated and information seems to be getting confused.
This thread in a nutshell.

Sherman 206p ac/dc is made by jasic and proven to be the same internaly as the jasic 200 ac/dc mini, a highly regarded machine.

sherman anything else is not and unknown, ie not all sherman welders are made by jasic. This threads not to promote sherman, just alert folk to that specific model.
Its been mentioned a few times but gets lost in the 74 pages..

I guess if you could you'd prefer a machine that could do AC, DC and Pulse? Then that's the 206P

Probably should of specified 206p ac/dc is the jasic. Dc only is anyones guess, have edited my last post
