Good point about the cable, more so all the collet bits. Tried torch without the plastic shell. One layer of gaffer tape with bare hands will give little shocks Button is much better on its own and in the right place.

I have no use for a watercooled torch (weight, extra hoses, or complexity), but I am interested to know, what part is watercooled? Just the neck, or does water flow around the head as well? Had a good look on google, couldnt find any cut away pics or diagrams

A WP20 torch is tiny compared to a WP26 but it can handle at least if not more current than a WP26.

Most water cooled torches cool the neck and the head. In most it is just a pipe runs up the neck and around the head and back down.

I should be getting my box of True1 power connectors delivered today, might cut the flex down to 30cm, but would prefer to open up and rear panel mount it. Easy to get to?
I dont think the warranty would allow it.

As per someone else earlier on in the thread, I've ordered an M10x1 female to 1/4 BSP male bush which'll let me put a 1/4 Rectus 21 female on the machine. Couldn't find any UK stock though, ordered from eBay/Aliexpress

How do you seal the M10x1 Female to the M10 male outlet on the Sherman? The male M10 is designed to seal on its internal cone, mating with the cone on the Female M10 Hosetail. Just a Female parallel M10 will surely leak? I'm interested because I would like to fit a Rectus 21 and don't want it on a floppy bit of tube. On the other hand I am wary of opening up the Sherman to fit a Rectus 21 bulkhead fitting.

It (still) hasn't arrived yet but I was planning on using liquid PTFE.

Where is Pin 1 at the connector? I made a mistake when I broke this tiny little Bastard.
And now it's in the trash...

The front panel has a 12mm hole and 16mm hex on the outside. The hose is 8mm OD x 5.5mm ID.

The rectus 21 fittings here, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Water-Fe...-with-Finger-compression-fitting/113557453134, are 6mm OD x 4mm ID which has a 10mm thread and a 14mm hex that fits the outside of the panel but isnt much bigger than the hole, or 8mm OD x 6mm ID fitting which has a 12mm thread but the hex is 17mm so doesn't fit the outside of the panel.

I went with the 8mm x 6mm fitting so it was a better fit on the pipe, drilled an M10 washer out to 12mm to fit the outside of the front panel, filed the corners off the nut so it fits in the recess on the inside. The pipe nut bottoms out at just the right place securing the pipe perfectly.

I think I may have managed to decipher the manual regarding the torch switches.
I think what it is saying is when not welding you press the Parameter switch to select Up slope or Down slope and then can adjust the values by using the + or - buttons.
When welding you can press the Parameter button and then the + and - buttons control the welding current.

If that is a correct interpretation then likely I could just link pins 4 and 5 and that would allow the function to be active all the time. It is not really what I was hoping for as with the Parweld you could use the + and - buttons to adjust the voltage at all times and that is what I liked as most often I used when not welding, basically just a remote way of adjusting the current before welding which is handy if you are 8m away from the welder.
I think I will connect a couple of wires to a switch at the plug and see if that is indeed what it means, more out of curiosity because only being able to adjust the current whilst welding is not really what I want.

Is that pinout for the 206p/foot pedal? I need to make up a button/cable for spare torch and may as well stick a pot on there too.

I have found a couple of 13A euro plug adaptors with earth, if anyone needs it, free plus post.

That is the torch switch diag, should be the one for the pedal in the manual, if not it will be in the Jasic or Razorweld one.
