If you a small travel pedal that has 200 amp when to full press the pedal and 10 amps when you realease, the 2 pod you can cut the amperage further from 50 amp when "release" and 130 on full

i should complain about this thread really <joking>

i wanted a cheap tig welder to do a little bit of splatter free welding inplace of my mig, and i've ended up buying a 500 quid ac / dc tig, spent about 150 on extras for it (tungstens, filler rod, gas lens system, new helmet and so on) and now need to spend about 200 for gas.

But by eck at the end of it i'll have an amazing tig that can do almost anything i ever dream of welding, that will hopefully way out last a cheap £150 no name tig dc only from ebay, and i'll get multiple new skills out of it.

so thankyou metal monkey for finding this welder.

My Sherman is ordered, too. With the new price, plus discount voucher sent with the newsletter sign-up, it’ll be delivered to me for the princely sum of £452.09. That includes a pedal and a couple of plugs.

It's a different beast from the Lincoln Aspect 300 I use on my C&G course, but I’m looking toward to doing some out of class practice making holes in Al.

Let's face it; if you get this one under £500,- then you've got a good deal, or am I wrong?

Here in Holland I couldn't find a better deal or even better welding equipment in this price range.

I'm an 8.5 and the 8 fits really well, nice and snug but not too tight. They do them in 8 to 12. Probably better ones out there but I'm happy with them

Regarding this welder, the Weldes site now says;

“This welder is no longer available in the United Kingdom market”

Price was £480 yesterday - now showing £909 (and you cannot add to basket)

@T689 interesting. @www_weldes_de announced a while back they'd been asked to pull it from eBay.
It's still available on eBay via other sources but not at such a good price.

Just had a delivery, postie complained it was heavy... i told him it was a welder and he almost dropped it!!, then i pointed out that it's actually very light due to modern technology, and this kind of welder 10 years ago would need a mini crane to lift... not to mention have a 4 or 5 figure price tag (i'm exaggerating here i think)



The marks on the top of the foot pedal are from the packing tape that was wrapped around it to hold it down, and thus fit in the box.. this pic is as i just unboxed it in the kitchen.
I believe the pedals before had 2 cables that terminated in the multi pin plug (2 core for the switch, 3 core for the pot) this now has a single cable from pedal to plug)

Bod that mains cable is thick, i know it will be 2.5mm conductors inside an extra thick rubber outer sheath, but that's gonna be fun getting into a 13 amp plug,

I've just signed up with BOC, awaiting my docs then i can nip out n get a bottle of gas.

Got no welding rods yet... which is kinda good as i haven't got a welding table / surface yet either, nor any gloves other than my thick mig gloves (due to having to send back the ones i got 2 days ago, ordered XL, got L delivered)

Waiting another parcel from Weldes, with rods and other bits in it, thought it'd all come as one package to save them postage costs.


Just read that this machine can't be sold to the UK anymore, bloody hell, let me guess, another price fixing scam from a different supplier...the one who stopped the eBay and amazon sales of these to the uk so they could sell their versions of this machine for 4 figures

Maybe we shouted a bit too loud about this?
Maybe a way to get this welder is to befriend a polish man in the UK whos going back home for xmas, and have him buy it and bring it back as hand luggage? or him have a mate in poland buy it, then send it here?

I just used a 3 pin EU to UK adapter so no need to cut the original plug off or anything....just stick the existing plug inside the adapter and screw it together....they are cheap on amazon and eBay (was mentioned somewhere in this thread but not surprised if it can't be found).

If you flick to the French site there is a warning there too that you cannot order from that site and set a UK address on your account...


Back on the GB site of Weldes...I cannot find another Sherman welder with a warning - all others seem available. Hence it looks to be specific to the 206p model only.

Since all the other Sherman welders are available and it's not a blanket policy to the UK (i.e., rules out leaving the EU etc.) there is something about that model.

It could be Jasic pressing them, but what hold does Jasic have over Weldes? They probably don't have a sales relationship (partner, reseller, official distributor, etc.). It may be Jasic or not. It could be that they (weldes) want to limit to the UK as there isn't that much profit with all the posting and then support, it could be working out very unprofitable to send the majority to the UK and wish to balance things. It could be a chance to up the price and control supply because of demand.

Note to all: next cool deal found...post it to the private members section to hide it from googlebot and search engines!
