thankyou ,appreciatedHardy hole is the square one, used to drop bottom tools in - lots but not all tools come in pairs - top tool designed to be walloped with a hammer squashing the metal between top and bottom tools. Some tools don’t have an equivalent top tool - in the photo of my anvil you can just make out a couple of bending forks that are used alone.
Pritchel hole is for punching holes with a drift - the drift can be knocked right through the metal and anvil - just don’t have your foot underneath when you’re using it!
think thats a boot last more than anvil , but hey ho alls welcome
keep looking , sometime or other your luck will be right time right placeI would love to, but I don't have an anvil sadly. Can't get a decent one for sensible money these days.

Looks like it says Peter Wright on it and you can see the English weight stamping on it. (164 lbs)Are there any anvil experts on here? I’ve not looked closely at mine before this thread appeared, but it appears to be a Peter Wright, though not seen one with a brass disc before - any ideas?
I’d love a decent print of one of them. Framed on office wall. I like trying to get engineering drawings also.

Pallet. Its probably the cheapest all together to be honestOut of interest does anyone know of companies that would transport something as heavy an an anvil? There are a couple I’ve seen but the nearest is Lanarkshire, some 6 hours in the car for me. Longer in a rental van.
