That's really neat. I'm a big fan of that. Norwegian vice. It's got a nice ring to it.
Does anyone have any info on what particular green (or other colour?) was used on Fortis vices? I've got a nice quick release here that appears to have been painted four very different shades of green during it's life. Three of the four are so different in fact as to be two kinds of blue, and a yellow, respectively. John Deere green is a-callin' if I don't manage to find the original colour.

I am looking for a new vice. I have a Parkinson 3C vice for more than 20 years now and always liked it a lot.

Back then it was given to me because a small chip had come off just below the fixed jaw.
Regretfully it is now developping cracks see pic.
Most people nowadays seem to want a Heuer Front, but I have two of those at work and never really made friends with them.
I have been looking for a Record 112 or even 114 but overhere it is like looking for hens teeth ( always liked that saying).
Now I was offered a Record no6 in reasonable condition it seems but I read somewhere I should stay away from post Sheffield models(?).
My question is how can I tell it was manufactured in Sheffield ?

Yes I thought about that and I migth do that in the future, but for now I want a "new" one
The cracks are on both sides as well as the chips just under the replaceable jaws.
Fixed worse.
Do it for the fun of it.
