Yeah it's nice to see the original colours, it's really very nice, i'm very pleased with it. The retailer badge being on it is a big plus for me too as I like stuff like that.
The pipe vice is a beast, I don't use it but it's just cool.
The torch is based on the U.S. Army Fultons (I have a few of the genuine Fultons), that one is a modern one by Mil-Tec it's got LED's in, rather good & was quite cheap.

saw an interesting vice last night, market place or face ache , it was a mill vice apparantly for round bar , the jaws rotated to clamp , not seen one before looked neat.

Hi , what is the vice fitted to the bench please , does the front jaw pivot ?It was my Birthday recently & my other half's mum has an old vice in the cellar that i'd mentioned a while back that I was interested in if she was ever getting rid of it. It was attached to an old bench & basically just sat there not having been used in many years.
I got it as a Birthday present
It's a lovely old Parkinsons No16, this thing is original & is complete with original retailer badge. The retailer was J Heaton & sons of Leyland Lancs, the town i'm originally from !
I spent the afternoon cleaning sawdust out of the thread (i'm off work this week). A lovely way to spend afternoon, It's just utter quality.
Here's some pics. It's a big thing, the Vice just visible next to it is a Parky No8.

Time for me to show this little 2.1/2" jay Marley swivel vice. Bought new around 1952. Had very little use.

Incredible to think that had i not called in at my other halfs parents house many years ago, the old Vono would have been binned.

Yes! It looks like mines been smoothed out, the casting marks aren't the same as yours.
The left side vertical is smooth where yours looks like it has a ridge, the inside of the front jaw is smooth yours looks like it has a separate line along it. Weird.

Don't get the full story -- is this a one-off in build, or are you going into production? - I see your company has the means to do so.
Looking at the nut, it'll be a straightforward acme thread vice? - good choice - looks big, depending on pallet size - where does dobbs 1/8 ton (~250lbs/100+kgs) - looks even weightier to me (or is it a small pallet?) - come from -- anything over 100lbs is b-i-g -- have I missed a link?

Anyway -- looking forward to the finished item --
a cheeky ps I already have a no9 Parkinson -- would you please also produce a 00 size of about 4lbs so I can add to my collection of these - says he hopefully - ie an H R Lamb 'Handy' - maybe with an optional swivel base.

I've got one of those... and it's 50kg of hernia-inducing iron to pick the 9 up off a floor.... so what would that beast weigh in at!

Spent a lazy day sorting out what to put where in the current limited space I have in the garage, so started by organizing the "metal" working bench vises / vices I've acquired over time. Sixteen in the photo, but I believe there are a couple more; somewhere. There are a few wood working ones, but that will be for another day. Its amazing what one can accumulate, even if you are "not" a collector, lol. I am going to have a think about what I will realistically need, and then find new homes for the remainder.

Production, the yanks love it!
It’s 150kg dead so just over a 7th of a ton
I’m going to be sending out raw castings to them mainly but I reckon I’ll make the screw and thread mill the nut so it’s machinable for someone with a shaper and Bridgeport
