That extra lever below appears to be for actuating a vacuum disc, to attach the vice by suction on smooth surfaces.interesting - never seen that extra swivel (redundant?) on the base as this one.

I have something similar, also no markings, but very well made. The vice design looks to be of the German type. Here's another ball joint swivel ....

No markings - I know nothing about maker, but it's well made, the ball joint holds well, 80mm Jaws, finely machined dovetailed ways, tube-protected screw, fine casting (steel?).
Little used, needs a clean up, cheap on eb about 4 yrs ago. Sitting on my sit-on bench.
Anyone id this or?
There is certainly a noticeable difference in the 518 1/2. To the 518 but think thay only ever made the 4 sizesEach to their own on finish (but please don't hide significant faults if you're selling),
The 518's OK in it's way, but I go for the extra 1/2
-will 518 have a 3/4 or even a mythical 519 next posting? Central Scotland's a good place to look what with shipbuilding, Weir, Motherwell Bridge, etc etc (much sadly gone now, leaving only their huge chipping vices)
IMHO, it looks much better than if it was repainted and or polishedA sympathetic resto on this one. Didn’t want to repaint and what was left was in good nick

Ps my comment is the last para ,,,, somehow got into landy's sectionI have been unpacking some stuff today. I only have 11 vices and only 3 of those qualify for this thread but I thought there are those who might like to see.

The blue clamp on vice in the middle picture -- I guess these are Chinese (brand 'Mount Peak' or something similar)-- I have seen brand new versions selling for peanuts, with very rough castings, also some like yours, kind of intermediate, and then seen several, older, used, with very fine looking castings -- I'm lucky enough to have one of these older ones -- works well, v little play, takes a beating, , BUT the swivel clamp action is poor (doesn't hold firmly) and I've seen that other users have this problem as they've obviously put on a breaker bar and broken it off - anyone got any tweaks for this?
Mine is this one from Toolstation absolute rubbish but I included it as it is still a vicePs my comment is the last para ,,,, somehow got into landy's section
