That's a nice find. They seem to go for silly money nowadays.Found this Imp on a shelf in the wash house, hadn’t really clocked it before, looks very lightly used, should clean up nicely.

Luck of the aardvark ! That's a nice one for a fiver.
Not a Record catalogue, however there are a few Record vices in the 1971 B&H Catalogue.Does anyone have a RECORD catalogue later than 1963... I would love to have a copy????
Super link CwazyWabbit - I downloaded that one then searched for Record with some success with French language versions from Canada... then searched for C J Hampton and hit goldmine...There is a french Record Marples Tools catalogue from 1984 available here https://archive.org/details/RecordMarplesCatalogue
Not creeping.... but well done Cwazy, were it not for people taking their own time to do these scans we would not have such a resource for our futures. Very well done mate.I love archive.org, it's an amazing resource. I found it interesting to see that some of my catalogue scans had found their way onto their.
Hello welcome and they are utterly fabulous !I picked up these old parkinson vice stands at auction recently.
They appear to be a No1, No2 & a No 4, does anyone know what a No3 looks like?
I am wondering if they are actually 1,2&3 and the No4 shown on the catalogue image is a development of the No3 design with a round pillar.
I am told the No 3/4? predates 1929 because of a brass Thomas Robinson (Rochdale) machine number lable which was fixed to the base and removed by an employe of the auction so he could hang it on his wall.
Thanks

I'm awaiting this with much interest !They look amazing. That's museum pieces...
Would certainly agree that the 1940 Parky cat shows a round central stanchion rather than the more ornate (and more difficult to manufacture) one you purchased, so yes that could be a number 3 maybe. I don't have a Parky cat other than the 1940 one. I wonder if the Hawley Tool collection may have one. I am waiting for them to come back to me about allowing copying of their archive vice catalogues. See email reply below when I asked about any Paramo (Parramore) catalogues they held.
