From this, unloved Redord Imp Vice.
Bing as well.
The date is most likely the date that the design was registered.
I found the receipt for it

Nice. I need to do that, but higher up on the garage wall; or sell the whole lot.Put a shelf up for my small vices.
A mixture of Parkinsons, Ward & Payne, Paramo & a little Rededa.
Happy Easter to all

Put a shelf up, don't be selling them !Nice. I need to do that, but higher up on the garage wall; or sell the whole lot.
the marples cleaned up quite nicelyfirst vice bought in a wee while, as it is a small bench clamp vice, which i now prefer as they take up less space and less rust bath and actually less of everything
my first Marples will see how it cleans up, my first impression is it is not as good quality when compared to a Millers Falls which made a Marples copy

Gobsmacked.
You wouldn't also happen to have a receipt for an old Parkinson's Perfect No 9 I have, would you?
What was the rationale behind these vices? With such an enormous range of vices it seems odd to need a fabricated one.A 'P' on a Record vice usually indicates that it isn't quick release (only there when a QR option also exists)
In the 1960s and after, record’s main line of vices were all ductile iron I believe, they had no cast steel vices, so felt the need for a steel vice I guessWhat was the rationale behind these vices? With such an enormous range of vices it seems odd to need a fabricated one.
That's cool ta for thatA 'P' on a Record vice usually indicates that it isn't quick release (only there when a QR option also exists)

Do you have any idea on the size, i've never seen a 3 inch one of these before & can't find any info' on them? All the Record Leaders I find pics of seem to be bigger ?
It seems a genuine/proper model.
