Interesting vise, love to have one, although I can't think of anything for me that would require it, plus the fact it weighs 30kg so hate to think how much the delivery charge will be from China.

And this is my Noveto 110 Brevete (patented) - was advertised in England but I guess French (or Belge/Swiss) made - I'd say the Jerrims Fixie was first, the Coventry Fortis next and then the Noveto (no QR, but a good solid vice, 110mm=4 1/4in).

You know full well I've been thinking I need a noveto to finish the 3 jaw set

That's fantastic. Seems to have even less front naw support than the fortis though.

Got any more pics? Like LOTS of pics?

I'm sure they are strong enough, but any slack in the pocket they rotate in, and they move when you clamp down.
They have enough support bot to break, but it looks like, like the fortis, the jaws will move about as you tighten the vice.

They may not though, looks like they may have a locking system?

I don't recall the jaws on the novetto 110 moving when in use, they do also have a locking bar you insert when you want to just use as a normal vice.

Added something I've wanted for a long time to the collection today. A swiveling rear jaw vice. Looks early prentiss to me, but no markings. I'm currently asking our American friends for a deffinate ID.

The rear jaw taper pin is, obviously, proper stuck. So I'll have to try and figure out how to deal with that!

Consider cutting some metal strips from a soda can or something thicker, and wrap it around the exposed part of the pin to protect it; then use an appropriate wrench to twist the pin to free it.

Different vice. The one you posted had cast markings and a later style swivel release.
This has the early spring pin type prentiss used.

Mine has Columbian casting marks, but I machined a retention pin because there was none, just an old bolt had been used.

No need to do that, I've sen it on You Tube. Spay with WD 40 and magically the pin will pop up.

exactly, it's so easy.

or - - - - maybe not - there's a lot of discussion on US vise forums (fora?) about the struggles with old swivel jaws - drilling out pins, breaking jaws when trying to move 'em. I was lucky in some ways with my Parker - so overpainted that 1. the seller didn't know about the swivel and 2. the paint layers protected the interfaces from the worst - even so a heavy job and a somewhat mangled pin, to free it - still a bit stiff. Maybe that's why Parkinson offered the same for only a short while.
