Hello, and Welcome to the forum. By the upswept tail on the main frame of the vice, it would appear to be a Record; but I'm not sure ?
I'm confident someone will soon be along with a more detailed answer.

Early parkinson handy vices had the upswept tail. It also has a hole in the slide so you can oil the main screw just like my parkinson ball base

rare vices on the uk bay at min starting -- "2 heavy duty vices" - both woodwork QR, the first looks like (under the paint job) the best Syers I've seen (ie Smith Marks, the first Uk QR patent), the second a long wheelbase Parky (mk 2)
sorry if I cut across anyone's watching these to bid, but be a shame if someone looking for such missed em

other reasons I post are:
1. The Parky has rather a clever recent repair to the broken spring syndrome (the proper cure is an expensive new clock-type spring which is diff to fit) - this might also work as an assist to a weak spring

2. One of the pix (no 6) of the Syers makes it look like there's a bad break in the front jaw, but I think this is just a digital phot artefact - risks of modern smartphone cameras - can hide defects but also make em appear where none was - and that's before all the latest generativeAI/chatGPT4/ML gets applied - watch out in the future - things may not be what they seem.

Lamb, Lambo -- what's going on here?

There's a Bugatti vice (and copy), now a Lambo (grey) vice - time for a Bentley vice? (all in VW-Audi) -- I s'pose my 15-year-old Skoda Fab (also VW-A) wouldn't qualify for a special edition vice?

You know you're doing this -- show us a pic of your fine 53 1/2, but we've all seen them ---- what's the little green'un peeking into the shot?

.....................At the moment I can't recall the make, but it was from around either the late 1800's or early 1900's. I Know where it is in storage, and will post more information tomorrow.

Sorry for the late reply. The vice is a Sheldon - Patent Date 1900, I also have the mechanical bench dog my Dad got with it.

The Record could be anything from 1930ish to last production. Flat hub came out before all other models back then.
Woden similar (I have 2 x 186B/4)
The Parkinson is an F7 Perfect Vise with early round hub and still showing signs of Parky Red paint. Curious is the number 7. All examples I have seen have a very stylised 7 - almost looks like the way Europeans write their letter 1 with a long sharp leading upward stroke to the left of the vertical. Many people mistake it for a number 1 when advertising on eBay etc.
Could be an early casting not sure.

Finished picture of the ball base vice with aluminium jaws kindly made by @RichardM

Put the prentiss swivel jaw back together too. Wasn't sure what to do with this. It's over 100 years old so didn't want to make it look new. But, it was badly painted black, so had to do something.
That something turned out to be just painting it black again! Cleaned, 're lubed, coat of satin black, works very smoothly.

Thought I'd post this here even though it's not mine.
When you have bent that handle that badly, weld a socket on the front!
Presumably so you can put a huge breaker bar on it!
Says alot for the strength of the vice though!

Yes -- that's a George Blair (Newcastle, then N Yorks) All Steel vice - strong. (Plate/label missing).
