Thanks for the reply, could you point me in the direction of where to purchase the Record 34P washers as I can't seem to find anything on a Google search?

Cheapest way is to measure the washer and buy online via washer manuf/suppliers.
Be careful about the id/od otherwise it binds on the spindle or sliding jaw innards.
Other way is a kit - try viceman https://www.viceman.co.uk/service-kits but not so cheap.

I can't believe how sought after these seem to be at the moment.

These are great vices. I acquired a nice one several years ago and mounted it on a worktop tool cabinet. Since then, I've used it more than any other vice I have. Its especially good for positioning odd shaped items for hand filing.

Agreed. Love mine. But I wouldn't be paying the best part of £200 for one!

A few pics of the new to me vice that landed today.
It has definitely seen some work but by no means is worn out.
No makers name / number / casting code / stamps found anywhere yet.
Quite a nice green colour underneath the grease and oil.
Jaws are 6-3/4 inch wide and opening up to 10-1/4 inches.
As for weight it’s just on 60kg according to basic scales.
Temporarily clamped to the bench next to my Record 36 for scale along with obligatory coffee mug picture.
Any ideas out there what make / model / year it is ?

I've seen others, but no idea who made them.
I knew it was big when i saw it for sale. Glad I didn't buy it now as it's huge!
Alot of front overhang. I guess it would have been on a very heavy, solid mount.

Green. Only company I know who used Green were Fortis (all vice) and Woden (just their steel vice).
Based on the design etc especially the overhang and the size of the tulip hub - gotta be 1890's. Maybe a bit earlier/later? maybe later as its a 2 piece housing.
And it looks English.
maybe Danny might have an idea on the make?

I recall seeing one in a USA argriculture catalog I will have a look but I remember they don’t give brand names just description and price.

Yep, nearly bought it just because it's cute, but I really don't even need to drill stuff that small so left it.
I have a bigger sevo already too.

Was a nice little thing though, probably would have put it on the mantlepiece!

Well, no more bids, sold for £100.

More sensible than the £183 the last one made. 2 people must have really wanted it.

Nice indeed, and would be great for a mini mill; looked to be mint too. Got to confess, I don't really need it either, but couldn't resist entering the posted low first bid as I did not expect to win. Anyway, it cost less than what my neighbour drinks on the weekend.
