That's what I think but I want to be sure. I've 3 vices dismantled at the minute & my goldfish memory means I forget how they go back together.Is that spring setup just as a buffer to run up against the nut housing? If so, that large washer likely wants to be towards the thread, with the thin washer at the pin end.
Ha! I sold one to Burdekin with it's original locking nut and spanner still fixed by its chain just a few weeks ago! It was looking shabby but still original and not abused either. I'm waiting for him to put photos up when he's restored it!I made it up. It's not really a bolt so I just called it a stud. The one in the picture is knackered, I have yet to find a Swindens with it's original locking lever and that bolt/stud/fixing is typically the first to suffer from bodgers.
