They leave similar scarsThat too is cheating however, they are not razor blades
They require similar single digits to weld them.

Wouldn't know, I haven't shaved since I was 20 when I came off my bike and cut my lip so couldn't shave. They leave similar scars

I’m not surprised your settings sound awful. Let me edit your post to something more usefulView attachment 128452 View attachment 128453 cant get the feel for alloy
!.6 Tungsten No9 shield 1.6 filler 2 sec Pre flow 12amp start for 2sec, up slope 0.8 up slope, 55Max AC33Hz, Acball42%, down slope 0.5 finish amps10, post gas 4 sec.
Cannot get the start & finish sorted + the in between bit is fairly crap as well old 3mm alloy channel

2.4 Tungsten No6-7 shield. 2.0mm - 2.4mm filler 1 sec Pre flow, no upslope or start current just 35-45amps per 1mm of thickness. AC70-120hz, Acball 30%. down slope 2-3 seconds, no finish amps. post gas 6 seconds minimum

From what I have seen your turning is pretty goodWish it was show us your best turning. Granted mine would look very inferior to what some of you can do on those monsters you own but as I’m in the learning, playing, fun stages there is a sense of “wow I must get a photo of that” for me. Welding... bah!!! I honestly couldn’t tell you which one was the best or worst. If they don’t look decent then they are usually redone.
That's unbelievably tidy. What size filler wire are you using? I only had 1.6mm filler but couldn't get it to work so i overlapped the cutting edges and fused it without fillerThat’s cheating Anto.
Razor blades should be knife edge to knife edge. Butted with no overlap.
0.8 stainless mig wire was the chosen length in this case. 2 pairs of mole grips clamped hard to a chunk of steel fast pulse averaging around 10 amps. That's unbelievably tidy. Some of it is acceptable. When I produce something beautiful I just photo the death out of it lol. Cos it’s a rare occasionFrom what I have seen your turning is pretty good
