Balance around 70-75% (older fronius machine balance is a range from -5 to +5, dont know why, personally I hate it. But I have it set on -1.5 which is somewhere between 70-75% EN

No, couldnt use the burn out rings due to any remnants interfering with whatever goes through the pipe?? Just set them up 2mm from the end

do you guys use to throttle down the amps midway when making these amazing alu welds?
Not stupid at all. Positioner aka turntable is a rotating plate (often with a chuck on it) attached to a motor that is used for welding of round parts. Next best thing to having a robot welding your parts. Prop your hand, turn it on and feed the wire. Depending on the size of your work some of these positioners are huge and weigh tons and some are the size of a toaster. The rotating plate usually tilts as well, allowing for horizontal mount of longer parts (like pipe etc). Typically looks like this:
