This is a better view it is out of line between the head stock and tail and the slides are worn in the middle and very tight at the ends and if you want to work on more than 4 or 5" you have to slide the compond up the bed and then check alignment as it has about a degree of slop.

No the only part with a name I have found is the center in the tailstock which is american (can't remember what it is though) I haven't measured the thread pitch to check if English or not but fittings seem to be AF rather than WW/BS.That looks to be quite an old, possibly Victorian, machine. Any makers name on it?
