Dug this out of a drawer today, got it from my father in law 30 years ago. Serviced it then, and it spins smoothly still today.

This is mine, given to me by my great aunt about 20 years ago, it was my great uncles purchased new as a Christmas present for himself in 1960 , I don’t use it, but it works perfectly.

Are there any other sadists on here still using these beasts? I regularly use this (relatively) small one:

I like it, I paid a fiver for it a few years ago and it’s so much machine for the money. It’s ideal for mixing large quantities of things like fibreglass but I also use it in the house to mix plaster:

Using it for this kind of thing limits the scope for it to injure and maim (clearly it’s main purpose ) which is a bonus, but at the other end of the danger spectrum i also use it with large hole saws on steel plate which can get interesting!

So does anybody else still use anything similar? Maximum respect to anybody using one of the huge Wolf ones without a stand.... Scary!

I was given the same drill. Chucked it in a cupboard as I thought "old and useless". Just the opposite. Never used anything better for holes saws. Excellent progressive torgue. Just keeps going.

My father in law gave me one of those,it did fantastic service until the bearings got so sloppy the armature destroyed itself on the field coils.
