I decided not to go for the Dinse plugs just yet. All I was trying to do, was get the cables neat and tidy, out of the way. Thanks again for your suggestions (I'll more than likely add the Dinse plugs later)

My "All terrain" welding cart.
Still a work in progress but getting there now, needs strap points adding for welders and bottles, but essentially it takes the MIG, Tig and 2 bottles quite happily.

I work around some expensive cars and stopping equipment rolling is a must at times, our Mig could do with a handling suspension pack as it handles like a bowl of snot on castors. Please don't take this as a criticism, can I suggest you fit something on the ends of the front cross tube/handle to save dinging panels? Castors do like to have a life of their own when you are not looking. I nicked an idea off our trolley jack at work, a tennis ball on the handle end. I have a plan hatching for a Service Trolley with tennis or bouncy balls on each corner.

i have some inserts on the way , the wheels were just spares i had from an old tool chest that's now built into a bench .

So a flat tray for the parweld and cooler to sit on.
Alloy bumper bars, wide enough for definitely 2 bottles, 3 maybe a squeeze. But hopefully can now get the workbench build to accommodate it underneath so dont have to crawl around on the floor.

Yep may be a bit overkill but that's just the way I am.
The casters are just some cheapies I had kicking about.

It does look superb. The trolley is awesome as well. Your work is obviously meticulous.

I think its Lorch (?) who do a cart like this as an option. My TIG needs a cart and not decided which style yet. This has lots of benefits.

I'm liking that idea quite a lot! How do you find it for stability when it's fully loaded up? Does it not tend to be top heavy? Have you tried wheeling it over uneven ground?

Why I'm asking is that I need to make a trolley to hold my mig, plasma & gas bottle. They get used around the farm sheds so I need something that can be easily moved across uneven ground without falling over.
I also happen to have one of those trolleys that is being used to hold my mig gas bottle already!

thank you this time I used a mixture of Jotun, Jotamastic 87 one half and 90 the other, 2k epoxy, which worked well and not too dear.
The previous Epidac water based epoxy had been down as a single coat for nearly 5 years (as I never got the chance to get the second coat down.

It does look superb. The trolley is awesome as well. Your work is obviously meticulous.

I’ll give it a proper test soon, but no the 1 or 2 bottles on the front easily counterbalance the weight of the welders.
The TIG weighs very little and lives up top, and my Kemppi mini arc mig is only 15kg with a 5kg spool on and that sits right above the wheels.
I just need to add the rubber mat to the sole plate and the straps

I'm yet to finish mine, but just found this thread and got excited. I've built it for my new TIG set, off to grab some casters later. Particularly proud of the tray given all I own to fold sheet with is a vice. At some point when I can afford to upgrade the MIG I'll mod it to carry both and 2 bottles of gas.

Tried a mock up of @cr500dom welding trolley design by lashing up my welder & plasma to the back of the trolley my gas bottle was strapped to.

It was held on with a combination of rope & bungees but was solid enough for testing. I took it for a wheel around the yard but returned quickly to the garage. To start with it was heavy to wheel around, you are having to support the weight of everything including a 20l gas bottle - hard enough on level ground, never mind on a rough surface.
The other problem was that it never felt stable when wheeling it. Even sitting on the floor it felt easy to topple over backwards. Maybe adding an adjustable castor to the back would solve these problems.
I even tried swapping the gas bottle to sit over the axle.

This was very badly balanced so was quickly abandoned.

I think I'll go back to the drawing board so I'm off to look through all 19 pages of this topic to get some ideas for a 4 wheeled design!

You need the wheels sat directly under the welding machines, to stabilise it better.

Thats a significantly heavier welder than probably both mine combined, my Kemppi miniarc mig is a really small form factor and only 15kg with a reel of wire on board. The Tig is even less, and I have 2 bottles to counterbalance it as well

Have a look at mine earlier in the thread 4 10" puncture proof wheels and Ackerman steering all up weight is around 200 kg with the bottle on and I can roll it round the yard easily
