ahhh yes... put the fittings in the tank and slung that in...

seats and harness`s are all in (now with added 5th and 6th points)

99% decided to mount the fuel swirlpot and high pressure pump in the engine bay..

then had a think about the studs that hold the quickshift down... decided they look ****e so cut them off.. drilled them out.. and will fit a nutsert into the tunnel (for now there nuts+bolts)

std gearstick.. rusty... tatty... BOOOOoooooooo

new stainless gearstick... shiny... HURRAAaaaaaaaay

instead of the ally bracket that picked up on the centre tunnel i decided to make something a little more permanent...

well its been a while...

what have i been doing???

er....

my powder coating turned up:

before i pressed the new bearings on i spun the drive flanges up and cleaned the coating off this also means the disc will be perfectly true when fitted (hopefully)

5 minutes on a friends press:

sexy legs!!

i then made a mounting plte for the digital dash display..

and spant a good 30 minutes sat in the car grinning imagining how much fun driving its gonna be!!!

next steps??

haven`t updated much as most of its been buying stuff..

remember early last year i started a catch tank?? LMAO:

i decided to stop avoiding it and as luck would have it the ally welder was set up in my bay... so...

mounting bosses set up in base:

tig`d up and mid clean...

still needs either a breathable cap like them mocal ones or some sort of vent and a -10 fitting for the rocker breather...

looks rather huge now its all put together so may cut the sucker down on the bandsaw and shink it down a bit...

well it now looks like this:

motorsport kitteh checked the tracts and declared they need some flappy wheel action but where otherwise OK.

i`m a bit vague on welding settings but ..

3.2 tungsten (a bit big for the 2.. all tank but its all i had).. about 100amps to weld it.... for the inlet.. about 150amps...

dunno about gas.. just turned the dial until it tickled my ear and felt about right....

filler wire.. 2.4?? again a bit fat for the tank but its all we had...

as luck would have it the inlet fitted.....

TIGHT to the engine mount though...

my fears about the tank however were correct!! the catchtank was too big but it was easily solved.....

1 oversized tank + 1 circular saw + 1 dangerous bast@rd =........

and by golly the beggar now fits!!

its been a while due to "proper" work and mates jobs but i have finally managed to get the fibreglass dash surround smooth and painted...

LOTS of sanding and primer...

fabrcated and fitted some brackets to fit my LHD wiper setup:

checked it all lines up with the scuttle trim:

unfortunatly there was a small issue with clearance,,, some **** had fitted a chunk of roll cage that fouled on the passenger side arm.. luckily some tickling with the sander and some arm tweaking sorted that out!!:
