On the plus side I've had 3 weeks solid work and a further 12 weeks ahead of me. Not bad for a new start-up
Hope it lasts for you.

Some of the panels prepped and primed today. Rebuilt most of the saddle. I'll finish the rest this week and then they can be put to one side for a while. Then the fun starts. :/ stripping the bed and cabinet. Some nicks in my paint but tbh I'm going to have a fair bit of touching up after the rebuild anyway so not to worried. Halfnut works as it should now but needs some tweaking before final assembly. View attachment 115869 View attachment 115870 View attachment 115872 View attachment 115874 View attachment 115875
Tractol primer and topcoat.Looking good your handy work, what paint are you using
Aye. Won't do anything yet. Noticed it was leaving lines in the oil though. I'll give it another tickle with some emery cloth and see if it improves. Looks like it had been dripped on the tail stock for a while. Thankfully the bed way is very light in comparison and right at the end.I would leave it with the pitting, will provide pockets for lube.
The Colchester ones (that came off) were made of Bakelite plastic - completely fubar'd to some weird burgundy sticky mess,
The Ebay ones leave a lot to be desired.
The seller states the originals are Bakelite when in fact they are rubber. I know this as I have a part set of originals off a 4 year old Colchester Bantam. I say 4 year old as the MKll Bantam didn't come out until 1976 and this one went into, and has stayed in storage since 1980.
