We do the present giving on Christmas eve as Mrs. ZX9 is half Austrian, when unwrapping one of my presents I joked you have given me my own shoes as I removed the wrapping paper to reveal an old shoe box. She had got my old site boots which I now use on the bike re soled and refurbished to look like new because the last time I wore them the soles were hardened and as slippery as ice. That was a very unexpected and most welcome gift amongst the usual boxes of chocolates and pots of preserves which though nice are an annual repeat item.
We don't do big presents for each other, I suppose I could have re wrapped the Creality K1 but that would be pointless.

Since children have grown up (27 & 39 - no grandkids yet) Xmas is just another day to us

Exactly what I do, tell them not to spend their money on gifts for me - still got chocolates, sweets and a good book.
Gifts from various neighbours were wine, shortbread and a pack of mixed snacking nuts and fruit, unnecessary but despite being told so they persist.
