The true test of those saws is when you do some heavy cuts. However prettified they may have been, when they start to struggle or get bogged they are not much use.

A seized saw used to be terminal and fit for the bin because of prices...then China decided doing laundry and cooking was not enough and went into the "copying game" result in a piston kit being £65 and a carb £18. ResultPhew at least someone is worse than me, I only have 3x TS400s
This is the 3rd one still in the post should have it this week. Under the dust and aparant concrete dip event it appears quite a little used / abused saw.

I already have ordered and received new bolts and a starter pull cord assembly. That is what I can see is missing from the pics, hopefully nothing more than that will be missing as it looks like someone had had the top cover off and not put it back on correctly.
I bought it from ebay as untested/ spares repair sale at £85. First mission will be to steam clean the whole saw then fit a new service kit and fresh fuel and see if it starts. Who knows could turn up seized for all I know.
If you ever buy one in person let the saw hang from the cord, if it walks down the cord it needs a piston kit, if it holds its own weight without dropping its a good un make sure the decompresser plug is closed though.
You lot have me curious on the TS350s now though
Have some naked Stihl saw shots. What are your experiences with aftermarket piston kits on these though?
My Husky has recently had 2x different piston kits and both only give 100psi which should really be 150psi with a new cylinder!
And I really doubt their lifespan. Hence personally if I had to do it again it would be genuine parts only.
Have you replaced piston kits in a saw like this and had years of good use out of it afterwards? If so would be good to know just.
That's as good a reason as any. I have a hub cap from a Duesenberg somewhere, which makes me think that I really should find the parts to complete it.I was browsing and there was minutes left on this original carb and I ended up buying it. So I guess I need to buy a TS350 now

Mine get worked to death mate and come out the other end unscathed on aftermarket kits. What are your experiences with aftermarket piston kits on these though?

I’m really glad I’m not the only one. We have a ts400 which has loads of go in it and a ts360 that is hanging on for grim death at work and I still prefer the 360. The 400 is better in every way except they put the handle in the wrong place.I actually prefer the TS350 over the TS400 as its better balanced in use, so much so i have 5 in bits all waiting a full rebuild when i exchange some free time for work time
I got a set of dash clocks from a Mk1 Cortina in the scrapyard when I was a teenager, it wasn't until a few years later that I got my first Mk1.That's as good a reason as any. I have a hub cap from a Duesenberg somewhere, which makes me think that I really should find the parts to complete it.
Enough to start an obsessionum how meny is that now
