SWMBO will insist on buying the cheapest, crapest garden furniture, always has. On the two seater love seat thing, one of the pivots just rotted away.
Found a bit of thick walled steel tube, chromed for some reason. Flap disc'd that off. Step drill came in handy to open the jagged hole out to 14mm.
The other side was even worse. The original metal is just paper thin:
Blobbed it with the mig and some 0.6mm wire. Had to make up the gaps with weld and try and not make more. The Ginour mask screen was flashing so much I couldn't stop it. Figuring it was the mask I swapped to the IFL one. Not much different. Must be strong sunlight triggering it? Thought I was going to have a fit/vomit!
Flap disc, zinc paint, new bolt 10mm longer:
It's not pretty, it'll carry on rotting from the inside out I'm sure. I've cut a bit of tube ready for the other side...
