Cast iron table frames, pulled from a house clearance skip.

I had them blasted as part of a MIS job, the plan was to use them as MIS project. But it did not get funding.
To many other projects on the go.

I used some left over metal paint.

Assorted hard wood cut to size and given a good covering of oil and wax.

The design is odd, as a neighbour wanted it this way.

Not so much a fix, more like a war on moss!

I got my 5l pressure sprayer out filled it with a bleach and water mix and sprayed a test area on my garage roof.

However, one treatment was not enough. This is how it looked after I sprayed it 3 times.

I needed something stronger.

I bought some sodium hypochlorite 14-15%, modified my pressure sprayer by extending the hose, practised my ladder balancing and then sprayed the whole roof.

There are a few stubborn bits. I hope they have all died and will fall off/wash off when it rains.

While I like the outcome, it took ages and I wonder if the juice was worth the squeeze.

Saw a you tube the guy sprayed it after cleaning with a moss killer, started at the bottom and worked up, said over the years he found it more effective that way.

Pal of mine does this for a living and also uses hypo.

It gets better and better as time goes on up till about 3 months after treatment.

Lichen takes about 2-3 years before it starts growing back.

Mate had it done...they just sprayed a product on and it just all came off with the rain.

Need to filter the gutters!!...and wear a mask if you're jet washing it as there's all sorts up there I reckon.

I cleaned the gutter a few days later. The downpipe was completely blocked with moss (it might have been blocked for a while though).

Urine is, supposedly, very effective.

That is a lot of drinking and standing on the roof relieving myself.....

That could work too I guess.

However, the pump sprayer @ Screwfix was around £15 when I bought it a couple of years ago if I remember correctly + 4 x 5 liter sodium hydrochloride was £37 including delivery from Liquipak.

The extra hose I had lying around (think it came with some cheap air tools).

For the sum of £52 you can start a moss war!

Mrs Dozzer has been complaining that the ride on mower is not very nice to use, the consol doesn't hold the steering wheel and wobbles. its loud and doesn't cut the grass properly. we inherited mower with house and its seen better days.
1. all 4 consol brackets at bottom that hold it to mower have broken. make thicker new repair tabs, weld and dill

2. Stupid Brigs & Stratton silencer has been lose for some time and M8 holes are no more, drill to 8.5mm tap M10 and put studding in with nuts.

3. Mower deck has lots of holes, front edge/lip is MIA and grass shoot to back has been bodged with roofing lead as half of it had long gone, but this made the grass stick in the shoot and clog.

After quite a few hours of prep work, the welding & fabrication session began.

Re made the shoot with sides of friend's dead plasma cutter

New deck edge was made by taking 3mm barr and laraping the crap out of it in a vice until i got the right rounded edge, turned out a lot better than expected.

Shoot was repaired with 4mm. its not rusting away in a hurry.

And wanted to say thanks to @My Old Landy for selling his plasma cutter to me, its made shaping all the repair panels so much easier.
it even has new mower blades to go on it.

Well, I guess you could call this 'fixing' something. We have a 10' x 12' shed for our garden tools and a few other odds and ends. It was in the way of our planned driveway extension, so yesterday we moved the shed back about six feet. Before moving it, we had to empty it to reduce its weight. Despite the contents of the shed being rather disorganized, it still contained quite a lot of 'stuff,' which you can see piled in the driveway and front lawn in the following two photos (and there's more not shown here):

After emptying the shed, we wrapped a long strap around it and pulled it back the requisite six feet with Mr. Case, our loader/backhoe. We then leveled the shed on 12 sets of blocks on compacted earth. When we build the new driveway, we'll backfill around the shed with gravel to cover the block supports and make it look much neater. I also need to install some PVC trim under the edge of the shingles and give the shed a paint job.

So I gut some wood.

Only when you assemble it, nowt is square and the same.


Oh well.

But an odd one.

Yes the weights are in Grams, well one is a 2oz weight.

But, the thread on the scales is imperial.
Not a big issue.

I found a replacement weight.

I even found some tweezers to fit as well.

Last year I brought this ancient pressure washer back to life by machining new pistons for it, it's an incredibly old but incredibly cool (IMO) pressure washer. The original hard chromed pistons had rusted through and would murder any new seals I put in, I machined new pistons from hard chromed rod (with a stainless cap for a piston face) that was quite cheap to buy. And the seals, incredibly enough, I was able to acquire online, for parts standardization.

Unfortunately all my work came to naught as it broke after a month of usage because of these plastic check valves. Several of them had failed so it wasn't able to build pressure anymore. And let me tell you finding a check valve that looks like that is not possible. 24 x 17 mm in size. I searched over 6 months and asked all kinds of stores.

I made four new adapters on the high pressure side using plastic and these cheap seals I bought a dozen of from aliexpress. I selected out the best looking of the old ones and installed on the low pressure side. Here's hoping it lasts.

Ideally I want to rebuild more of this and replace some of the hard piping with hydraulic hose and I think some kind of threaded inline check valve on the hose would be a good idea instead of having the check valves in the cylinders. If one could find a good candidate for water exposure.

Also bought 15m of hose for it, 5m is not nearly enough.

turn new valves from nylon and bronze/brass on a lathe?

Take the next closest size of the new valve and change its seat?

A bit different..........made a twirly wheel thing for a set of spurs.
The fixing bolts (M4) were broken so had to weld nuts to the remains to remove them. Ones in at the mo are temporary.
