The mounting bracket on the right of this glass shelf in the shower fractured yesterday while I was soaping my lower legs (easiest way to do it with my back problems). Luckily I was able to retain my balance and not fall though the glass wall of the shower.
The bracket looks like it's made of die cast. The problem was that the shower is now an obsolete design and that type of bracket is long out of stock. As luck would have it, I have a short length of 30 x 30 316 stainless channel which has rolled edges; my builder neighbour gave to me. I cut it to the same length and then converted it to a piece of angle, drilled it and fitted it. Problem quickly solved and at no cost.
