This 1950/60's Green house heater came my way the other day. I recall my Grandfather having a Brass tank one. This one is steel.

An annoying issues. Not well shown here and very hard to get an image.
The Loower brass part, were the wick gear is housed has cracked. This means as the fuel is drawn up the wick it leaks out. As it leaks out it pulles moire fuel up. So the flame goes out..
Being brass it was a pain to solder, But I did manage it.
Cleaned teh crack up with a needle file and cleaned it well with a solvent. Then heating the crack from the under side feed in fine solder.View attachment 323002
Finished. I had to ease the clip into shape, so it holds.
The plan for it?
I have some lamp oil, that is meant to repell bugs in the summer. I will be giving that a go.
