Why so bad?
I've probably fitted 8-900 liners and have only been beaten twice.

I think that this forum is spying on me. I am that man with the wet/unbrushed wood stove flu and it's just come to bite me . If plan "c" doesn't work ( home made multi legged spinner ) then it's possibly a liner. Last resort. Any ball park price for 7 meters in a concrete 7" flue . Just to give me an idea of how much to spend on useless presents .

7" concrete flue? Is it thermocrete lined?
Most new 5kw stoves can go on a 5" liner. Older stuff and bigger stuff needs a 6" liner. 6" liner down a 7" thermocrete lined chimney may or may not work depending on bends etc. Would need checking.

To be honest, I don't deal with our pricing etc so can't really advice on price.
Check prices for decent liner, hanging cowl, adapter, closure plate etc then add on a days wages for a couple of people. Should give you an idea.

However, if you are in England, and want it properly fitted and signed off, that wood beam would have to go.

Thermocrete doesn't often fail though. Are you just trying to get the creosote out? If so, there are products you burn on the stove to dry it out. Takes a few burns and a few sweeps. But if that Is your problem, it would have to be removed before fitting a liner anyway.

Had to enlarge the holes in the Swinden's base plate for the16mm bolts my friend gave me. Vice is now securely attached to the workbench. I'll fabricate replacement drawers for the ones missing sometime in the future, but for now the job is done.

Bought some scrap steel and had my first go welding 5mm plate to make a new damper plate for our 20 year old fire.
Parts no longer available.....
Welder pays for it's self a little more.

Made a new bush and the new aluminium sleeve Monday. Made 304 shaft with slotted end today.

Also welded one of the worst items of cast aluminium I've ever had the displeasure to weld. MINI (BMW) belt tensioner of some description. genuine BMW part. Full of porosity. So ground the welds back, tried again, full of porosity. Tried about three times then decided enough is enough. I just built the whole area up with weld and said to the customer (a good friend) look that's the best you're gonna get.

Brad, I noticed you used the work aluminium, they are allegedly French components and are mainly monkey metal with about 1% aluminium in them.

Well i would say it was definitely aluminium, not a lot of zinc in it or it would have been fuming. But there must of been a tonne of other contaminants in it. I Cleaned it again and again, you know even a oily inlet manifold starts to weld okay after the second or third attempt.

My 90's Casio calculator....it's seen some action over the years. Lost a few of the LCD segments. What's the worse that can happen.....you can't ##### it anymore as AVE says! Bit of a strip and clean..all good. Just remember not to turn it round so all the buttons fall out

This post concerns something that I CANNOT fix today.

It’s the small oven on the right hand side, which keeps tripping the supply .

The irony of it all is that it’s got fully comp fix it insurance.

Grrrr.

I've had 4 or 5 over the years

Last one was a Magenta one, love that colour but swapped it for a motorbike, stupid decision

Years ago at the Dolomite Owners meet, one of the guys raced one and I was trying to figure out how he had managed to squeeze a 4 branch manifold on the engine, took a while but then realised he'd moved the starter motor
