Today I made this. An interesting little job, especially turning a ball end free-hand using a chamfer cutter. It's slightly pointy, but who's going to notice?
What is it, you ask. It's a trunnion for an Archer tapping head. It clamps the adjustable foot. They're almost never on these things because no-one uses it
I think the foot's purpose is to prevent the head pulling out of the Morse Taper when the tap reaches bottom position and the head reverses. Once it's blacked it'll be fine.
