Jeepers, what exactly can you control with all that?
The lathe?

Er, yeah, he asked me if I could knock something up..... The top three are reverse/stop/forward and the other two are jog reverse/forward in that orderSo what do the fancy buttons other than red and green do , Sure the prime minster carries something like that in a brief case around linked to the trident missiles
It is for the Raglan latheJeepers, what exactly can you control with all that?
Nice setup. I needed something different, so rather than hardwire the machines in I made up a box to house two inverters which cover the horsepower requirements of the motors on three of my tools. It's an easy matter to switch plug's as necessary and also provide a quick connection for future equipment if required. Plug in and play.I finally got some time to make a remote for the Raglan lathe

Go on 50 mm ?Do you get that?
? Not sure what you mean. I think it is actually a 2-1/2 " 11 tpi special.Go on 50 mm ?
Not a standard, but 11tpi goes from 1" to 6"Do you get that?
I have certainly never come across 2-1/8 BSP.Not a standard, but 11tpi goes from 1" to 6"
I had one of those 4000 watt SCR things, returned it the day it came as it all appeared too crappy, thanks for confirming my suspicions. After yesterdays successful brass test I was going to have another go with a bag of brass swarf. This was yesterday:

Landlord was not going to be out long, and with higher temperatures it still has a habbit of tripping the RCD. I stuck it on high power, 2.5kw upto 500c to speed things up. Hoping for it to trip sooner, to help diagnose.. It didnt make 500c! Element survived, the SCR unit did not. The fuse holder got hot enough to desolder itself from the pcb. The 10A fuse survives

This may be my fault for thinking the fuse under rated and previously trying to get a 13A fuse in there, bending the holder a bit The unit is listed as 4000w...
Good thing is with the control box apart, Ive worked out how to fit the power meter inside, it will save lots of messing about with extension leads.
I then sieved/filtered 20 litres of water/clay for use as greensand binder. It will be about 6kg clay when dry.
I wouldnt say crappy as the triac chip is massively over rated, theres nothing massively wrong with the design.I had one of those 4000 watt SCR things, returned it the day it came as it all appeared too crappy, thanks for confirming my suspicions.
