I have always been one for altering my bikes, often just for the sake of it. The last CBR600 I had I made loads of stainless fasteners for it on my first lathe, tried to broach a hex in the end of the first two or three but soon gave up and made the heads with two holes and made a wee pin spanner to fit. Also meant there was very little chance of anyone managing to unscrew a panel to nick itHaving ridden/fettled /built m/c's since 1961 and being in the trade for 25years I find it great to see someone actually " altering " their bike to suit their own requirements . So many of the customers that I had to deal with were either unimaginative or incapable of altering the standard machine or even adjust it to suit their riding. They seem to think that the motorcycling experience begins and ends with the purchase.
