the diesel has a v belt drive to a forward / reverse single speed torque convertor box which has an inbuilt clutch, that then runs a drive chain to both axles of the rear bogiw.Excellent. Is that direct drive of some sort or is it using traction motors?

Last week I altered the back of a wheelhouse to shift the door from the starboard side to the port side so that the skipper could fit a chair in front of the wheel without having to try and squeeze past. He is loving the door being at the port side but he couldn't easily get on the chair as it is one of these JCB style ones and springs high when no load on it so I made this wee step for him to get up high enough

This is a base for my own computer chair at home, a lovely seat from a Subaru legacy Spec B. I previously had a base cobbled together from steel but decided to make one from Alu instead.
