The new aerial is now aloft and largely tweaked. This is the plot from the commercial device, with a replacement choke:

Then the plot from my new, homebuilt Windom. It certainly looks more useful at 20m that the old one.

This afternoon I made some chisels sharp
a while ago I got some chisels and other bits of @cheb I sorted them out some are destined to be hackers as they are beyond redemption !
however there were a few nice ones worth saving .

L to R the 1/4" palm tree gouge I acquired yesterday A nice firmer chisel ( couldn't read the maker as I didn't have me magnifying glass in the garage , a Robert Sorby and an old Wm Marples & sons

You can just tell their good steel when your sharpening them better than a lot of stuff sold these days . the backs will need a another flattening they're not quite there yet , but good enough for now . the gouge was a bit of tinker to sharpen had to grind it back as some
one had tried to put a bevel on the inside .

Another knurled head screw. Had to add a slot to this one, as finger pressure alone isn't enough to lock the clamp. It's to replace the allen head screw which I can never find a key to fit. It's for the depth stop on the Pollard.

Not finished yet. Got to cut and weld the top (rusty sheet it is standing on) and cut/fit another shelf. All free scrap so far.

Cut and stitched some heavy checker plate for the bottom shelf. Cutting some 8mm sheet for the top. All free scrap.

That didn't take too long. Next job check the scrap/stock to make rails for intermediate shelf. And stitch more checker plate. I'm aiming for heavy.

Mad a plywood keyring yesterday as a test.

I then tried on some 4mm leather, tried all sorts of settings but it just wouldn't cut all the way through so looks like 4mm leather is too much for the laser.

Found a piece of 1.3mm leather and had more luck with that but I really need it a bit heavier duty.

Going to make an air assist and see if that helps on the 4mm, if not I will have to get some 2.5-3mm and try that.

Also made a bed of nails for the laser, didn't fancy paying £50 upwards for a honeycomb bed and this seems to work well enough.

I had thought of that but it is a lot of work, I think glue would be easier and I could always etch some fake stitching Going to try the air assist and if that doesn't help I will get some 2-2.5mm leather.

Knocked up a new bath panel.
Sheet of MR mdf and a bit if paint.
Need to order some keku clips to hold it in place.

I thought i'd posted this but then i can add some extra pics now, bought a sheet of Nitrile rubber too make a decent gasket as the pop has always smelt like a hot rod !
Punched the hole using 38mm stainless exhaust tube sharpened and punched the holes by drilling a piece of steel and turning the drill over and sharpening the end and eyeballing the centre, worked well

Made some little locking levers to replace some missing ones on one of my machines. Top one is original, bottom one I made.

Had a think over the weekend about how to take the slack out of the drive chain on the electric car for the kids and this is what I came up with.

If you imagine the bit with the 4 holes and large aperture will be cut into the car and the motor goes on the plate. It’s be nice if it would work as is but I think I might need to remake the mount plates in Ali which will be a first for my DIY CNC machine

I bought an old Singer 29K (1934) and have been sorting out some timing issues. Seems a lot better. I cut up some leather scraps to make a Poppy or two, and a Keyfob thing for my father.

No I don't have one I used a hand-ground form tool then file and emery.
