What filler wire did you use

It’s a multi pass weld, Its a mixture of copper, steel and 316 stainless...

I have used silicone bronze on a smaller repair

In this case the rod came trough the block, pity I didn’t take more pictures of the job before/after. The cast was an interesting cast iron mixture, it welded ok with preheat with almost no cracking - credit to German quality castings !

When I first looked at the picture I thought it was a patch let into the block but I've realised it's a surface mounted patch, how thick?

15mm plate... it’s a 6 cyl tractor engine...they are working these really hard over here !

@slim_boy_fat cutting up a gas cylinder for the tube prompted me to open one up as it was just the perfect diameter and saved rolling a section. Made a pair of engine mount cups for a friends MkII Escort.

Barbie was a bit tired...

So I found a piece of timber left in the house when we moved in, don't know what is is but looked nice enough.

Cut it to size and sanded down to a " rustic" look. Then waxed it.
Also made a new base shelf and reassembled, I still need to make a new front bar for the air adjuster but beer and food were required so that's for another day!
