A stuck shrink fit. The alu part had sharp turned corners which were deburred but probably needed a chamfer . It was only a tiny bit undersize by 0.02mm which I would have thought not enough on 23mm. Anyway it stuck.

Its only gone in 2mm. Can I get the bast thing off? No. Not without making too much noise for tonight.

My soft lead drift has a nice deep imprint with machining lines and also mushroomed out the copper tube of the other end!

Tomorrow I will try with the sledge.

Having a CO2 fire extinguisher about gives you -70C in pretty short order, which is a handy dodge to know.

Buying a kilogram of carbon dioxide ice is not a problem. Works better than searching for a Dewar flask and liquid nitrogen.

Buried a friend.
I didn't want to go to the funeral.
The idea was ,I go there I say him goodbye and prior to start the funeral I'm already out .
Well I went out 15 minutes before the funeral,got blocked in the traffic .
Arrived there still in time, didn't find a parking which I've found far from the church .
The funeral was already started so I've had to stay till the end.
His mom said he always asked about me before to die.
Wanted me there .
He was a gentle giant, didn't deserve the end it had .
Lungs cancer, terminal stage discovered few weeks ago...
He never smoked, never worked in a risky environment,he never even drink.
They had to induce him coma because even morphine wasn't enough to relieve the pain.

Black box with the stainless braided sheath is the "homemade defibrillator" ignition system, It certainly makes a nice click...

Didn't do it all today and only 3m x 3m will be workshop. All done with Lidl fcaw and I've run out of petrol for the genny and more rhs to weld in but it's all gone rather nicely so far.

Assuming it's not 200mm dia, even a hot air paint stripper gun will warm it up enough. Had similar with an apprentice here at work a few years ago - he looked at me very sideways when I suggested the hot air gun - a few minutes and it simply fell out, having been tight extremely tight.

No heat was not the answer. It is very difficult to heat alu quicker than it will transfer to the other part even though its rate of expansion is double steel.
If the outer part was steel the induction would have done it perfectly.

Got it off with the club hammer. Interesting that it has a raised ring when it was never hit on and 0.02mm interferance.

Battery adaptor wired up, perfect fit except the tool casing protrudes and prevents battery clipping on, but I am happy to modify the casing.

Tried the saw. Seems about the same power as the other cordless but seems to have a soft start acceleration on the trigger. Its got higher gearing so lower chain speed and more torque, even so, 3/8LP chain is too big for these little saws and they struggle. 1/4" 0.043 chains would be much better for it!

Made a start on my next diorama. 1/35 scale this time. It will have a Panzer 2 on it when finished.
It needs a lot more weathering and scenery but it is a start.
These things take me ages but I find it relaxing in this tumultuous world

Dirty brush cleaner makes a good colour wash for ageing/darkening.

I took the plunge and bought a compressor and airbrush. Decided I wanted to paint indoors so built a small spray booth today. Two 120mm fans behind a 20mm thick filter. It works really well
