Could it be made as a two part tool with a male and female dies , one with a female thread so the parts could use a bolt through them and the sheet steel to form the dimple? A bit like the tool for reforming car door lock holes?

It could be, but I wasn't planning on drilling the actual hole, just putting the dimple in place in case anyone wanted to do that later. It's worth thinking about, though, cheers - I can get a punch for the hole to take a bit of pressure off my drill.

Making a new pressure plate for a lathe saddle. Fix the saddle when turning workpieces at the end. Old brake rotors are a good source of small pieces of cast iron.
A little ultrasound and citric acid at night.

Replaced the throttle body on my punto, replaced the map sensor too .
Car overfueled so much that she hydrolocked.

Have you checked the electrical feed to the injectors to make sure they're not just firing all the time? Could be a wiring loom fault.

Made a skyhook. Problem today was how to mount the two power supplies for the little CNC Mill, so in order to mount the new bracket for them, the Big Lin Bin had to go, but it has all the abrasive pads in it, what to do???



To be honest the Lin Bin wasn't in the most convenient place so a quick look around and the only space I had free was on the ceiling, made a bracket:



not only the original Bin but made it long enough for a couple more:



Quite pleased with how it worked out to be honest, actually increased my storage.

Done the 5mm/6mm bar sleeve

I may adjust a bit later on by broaching a 3mm radius onto the inside face. The 2.5mm radius prevents the bar sitting fully back.

Following on from the cross slide fitment, the Sino scale is now fitted to the bed.



Brackets made to hang the reading head from existing holes.



Cables all fitted and scales calibrated.

This evening I made the O/S mirror on me van whole and working again

what was left after a t**t of a delivery driver smashed it to bits on saturday afternoon and never bothered stopping just hoped his mirror was in similar condition , there was plenty of plastic on the road that wasn't from my mirror

the mirror was in one piece so a temporary fix of duct tape and fill and fix foam New mirror arrived today so a quick in the dark and rain fix


copy mirror but it fitted well so were back to heated and electric again .

This is a fun little project I've been working on. A TIG torch holder that uses geared gripping arms to hold the torch. It sits underneath a welding table using a magnet, and it's entirely made from stainless steel. The bright finish is actually very difficult to photograph!
I'm going to refine the design and then produce these to sell, if anyone is interested. I think it has a number of practical advantages over other "premium" holders in the market, and it's still cost effective.
