N O ... .should it be left hand thread?
Remember to point the compound slide the other way too (if you're using it of course).Been busy busy reading the MOLO :-
Put the lathe in the slowest speed 32 RPM using the drive belts and the back gear arrangement , then ensure the lathe is turning anti clock wise , use forward or reverse lever to get this
Don't move the gear lever as it is now in sync with the screw cutting drive shaft , just use the half nut to connect /disconnect and the thread counter .
ALWAYS REMEMBER ............ LH thread from left end RH thread from the RH end
That's where I went wrong , I beautifully cut the thread from the left side ,,
Doesn't matter which end you go from. You need the leadscrew and spindle turning in the same direction for a right hand thread and the opposite direction for a left hand thread.Been busy busy reading the MOLO :-

Nice job, do you reckon they will forget to flip it and rip the side out of the van though?First for me,folding handrail as it enables customer to access camper van,the cantilever on the bottom post was 660mm,so that post went in 850. Had to bore the pivot holes 11mm for a m8 bolt,to allow for 100 degrees of transition.View attachment 443322View attachment 443323View attachment 443324View attachment 443325
I was more worried about fingers, young, aged or in-between, in those two guillotine/crushers !Nice job, do you reckon they will forget to flip it and rip the side out of the van though?
My MOLO says different but it is almost 80 yrs old and due to having back gears ( facility to divide by six reduction in speed ) along with a split head stock drive set up ( bull gear ) and various gear train wheel changes can make for the difference in instructions .Doesn't matter which end you go from. You need the leadscrew and spindle turning in the same direction for a right hand thread and the opposite direction for a left hand thread.
Will be looking at some Atlas 10 F YouTube clips in a couple of minutes , I had already decided to have a look ...thanks .Half nuts likely just need adjustment, quite easy to do I believe.
