It'll make it more satisfiying knowing I did that instead of paying someone don't get me wrong if love to have a mill but I need a good on to pop up local that would have made this a cakewalk

You don’t need any patience when you have 27 squillian lathes and milling machines

Tap and die holder.
Need a fixed steady.
Start modifying one I aquired.
Casting snaps.
Decide to build one from scratch.
Give me a month and il be ready to finish the holder.

I don’t have a tap or die holder for the lathe, but dad showed me how to use what I’ve got. Perfect results every time

Ps I ain’t been in the workshop for two weeks. Flipping exams and revision. One more week to go and a new BBQ is happening

Not as bit of it, you make your own luck. The golfer Gary Player used to spend hours practising bunker shots [notoriously difficult to perfect as any 'mere mortal' will attest] and didn't leave until he'd holed a certain percentage of them. It has a tail fin on it, so it can rotate and face the wind.

not today but ive put another metal shelf up in place

ive built two shelves one where I work and one for home use both 2mm 1 1/2" box section welded with arc welder
able to hold my weight on a 2 meter span

heres my daughter having a go after they where built only skimming the oil of the metal before painting with a flap disk

i ended up putting her hair into her jacket out of the after telling her enough times yo do so


after my shelf fitted before i starting to sort stuff out in the shed optima you will recognize the paint used



the shelf is 700mm wide so i can stack 1 meter lengths on it all above head height so no chance of hitting yourself or knocking yourself out
photo shows this to be so
I need to buy a new 1/2" board to fit on the shelf as what i had in wasnt long enough
i also need to strengthen this side up with either a post from floor or a leg from the 7" beam I think also a leg is needed down from the other beam


after a good tidy up in there slowly getting there again


I can move again in there been wanting this for a while that milling machine has a 3ft footprint in total with an 18" threaded rod to hold a milling cutter in it
only place i can think of is to take a corner up with it

ive also decided that im going to put the pillar drill at end of the welding table as allows me to drill in longer lengths spin round and drill the other side of length

Try a pair of these.

Got them in screwfix, I wear glasses and they don't seem to steam up and I'm a sweaty sod!
If you're glass are like that bloke off the Buggles vidio then maybe they won't fit but otherwise they're no problem.
