OIK, we'll let you off. It's just that resembled the things I believe McDonalds serve up as chips, aka 'fries' but that's 'Murica for you....

I confess that's a Google pic of homemade chips - I make my own in an air-frier, uses only a teaspoon of oil.
Different tatties make different chips, of course. My current favourites are Roosters.
Current favourite fish n' chips from a chippy are from Glovers in Fraserburgh - formerly the Swan Cafe but they changed the name after a refurb and to cash in on the name of Thomas Glover who was born in a house next door and at age 8 the family moved to Aberdeen. He went off to Japan as a young [and brave] man and was instrumental in found Mistubishi! Enterprising bunch us Brochers [as the town is known 
].

Got the back section of the table made up and fitted, still have the supports to make for it but because of the redesign of the table I never had angle enough ordered, should be here tomorrow but I will be back at Arbroath possibly for the next 2 days as I have work to do on another Cat.
Usually there is very little rise on the aft section of the table and to raise the engines it needs tilted, the skipper however didn't want to have to do that every day so on this one the aft section has more of a rise on it.
Also got the gunwale roller fitted in place today and the inside plate welded on and secured and also the outside side and bottom plates welded but I didn't take a pic of that as I needed to get the car loaded and by the time I had that done the lights had been turned off in the shed, think the skippers brother was needing home

As the really cheap and nasty control had crapped out. The replacement is ten times better and should last for years.

I was board.
I don't need another chipping hammer.
But I needed to get out of the house.
The head was recycled from a old saw table (wicks own) It was part of the blade adjuster.
The handle was a handle from a old fire side set. The handles were the only good things worth saving, so I did.
The head is fixed with 3/8UNC threads.
Small fry, but it kept me almost sane.

Got a bit more done to the Cat before rain stopped play.
Cut and welded in some 12mm as a base plate for the Davit then welded it into the correct alignment and then measured and cut a few support webs on the plasma and got them welded in.
Did a few other jobs such as a cap for the helm pump and a stainless plate with studs welded in for mounting the ram to. The stainless plate will be glassed in place at the stern of the boat and then the ram will be bolted to it.
Also used my CNC lathe for threading, first time I have done any threading since I went back to a standard induction motor and VFD rather than the servo. Wasn't sure how it would behave but it went no problem, made a length of 1" marine thread from some Alu tube and also threaded some delrin that will be cut up to make lock nuts.
The boatyards blacksmith has started welding together the staircase I designed for them and cut the sides on the plasma. All I had to do today was provide dimensions of where the angle for tread supports go, so that was easy

I bought a polishing kit from Machine Mart, stuck it on one of my bench grinders, then made a crude cover to stop the gunge from spreading too far.
There is a wire wheel on t’other end already.
I also bolted it, and my normal bench grinder, to short pieces of 1” square tube, so I can simply clamp them in a vice to use them, as I don’t have room to mount them permanently to a bench. They live in the cupboard under the bench normally.
I could probably shorten that cover a few inches.....

Exactly what I did with my old bench grinder, although I've not made a guard like yours.
I've also got my metal bender on the same mount type, although I've not used it a lot yet.

Polishing awkward shapes that can ‘bite’ onto the wheel is part of the reason for the guard: to stop it coming round and hitting me in the face. I might have a go at putting a lip round it, give it some more strength too. It’s only 1mm alloy.
