That brings back memories. Designed and testing rubber mouldings for 10 years. Make a single cavity, 6 samples then it was scrap.
"Uniroyal" flashless transfer moulding was the best. Struggled getting toolmakers anywhere in the world to make yet a bloke in a farm in Hereford had it down to a fine art. Stunning tooling.
It's a quick and relatively cheap way to reproduce low volume parts I need . A days machining and a couple of days molding gets me the 226 seals I need. Photos taken before I machined the trim grooves into the tool.
