Headed to the workshop at 5 to melt some components off a PCB with a blowtorch and then decided to go and get some work done as I get on great when there are no people constantly coming into the workshop and interrupting.
First off I plasma cut a bit of 3mm stainless then bored the screw holes, fettled the edges with the die grinder and gave it a bit of a polish.
Next up I put the bronze chunks I cut the last day into the Chiron and made the steering rod end housings.
Flipped them over and faced them off.
All 4 done.
While they were being machined I was dismantling the lathes turret to get the prox sensor trigger part I made a while back. It wasn't quite true on the shaft and a couple of positions were touch and go as to whether it would trigger the prox's. If I put the prox's closer then they would scrape at the other positions. I centred it in a chuck on the Chiron and cut the hexadecagon shape 2mm smaller.
Got it fitted and the prox's adjusted and all seems to be good, just have to take the bracket off to do the final tighten of the lock nuts as I can't get a spanner in, that can wait until another day though.
