We are graced with numerous hedgehogs possibly because we feed them, unfortunately the neighbours who also feed them had one fall into their pond and drowned. They now have it fenced off.
So this afternoon I made the hedgehog fence for our pond, quite how they climb the steps to get into the raised border is a mystery but better safe than sorry.

Ponds should have a nice shallow entry and exit or a little ladder as a means of escape.

Agreed.
They would be able to get out of our pond without any problem but would sooner prevent such an event from happening.
Next door have learned a lesson albeit a bit late, the woman was in tears over it.

How did you cut those angular holes,I always find that process labour heavy ,been intrigued how it was done in the factory in the day when they were mass produced pre electric welds.

I didn't... as it's fully welded I cut the flats to fit between the diagonals. As long as you line them up well, nobody will know.

I did have the option of punching, but decided it would be quicker to do it the other way.

Fresh water every night, bowl washed regularly.
When it's warm of an evening we sit there with the conservatory doors open and watch them (noisy so and so's ) they'll happily come to within 5-6 feet of us, tend not to put the food any nearer.

Not much to show for it but bunged in a new consumer unit and pulled up some decking to run a supply and isolator for the hot tub that’s coming this afternoon.
Time to kick back and drink while trying to forget what the tub will do to my leccy bills...

Not as yet, but it may get used to make pasta! I filled it from the hot tap and it got to 50 degrees! A little too toasty for a comfortable dip. It’s down to a sensible 38 now and very nice it is too.
