Back to it three weeks and every fits been a red fit. Someone cocked up.
Not happy. Was supposed to be broken in gently.
Would have finished today but lost a few hours as someone cocked up the doors.

Did you spot it?

Would assume someone's put the wrong dims into whatever machines there using.


Each door down is 5mm shorter than the previous to allow for the margin
Someone missed this error.
Or more likely just packed it up regardless.

Knowing what I receive from fitted door manufacturers I would vote for the latter...
In the same category as dropping a door on its corner, throwing some soft wax in and hoping we don't notice,
Or overtrimming vinyl and throwing some soft wax in and hoping we don't notice,
etc
etc

Was waiting to see the hinges put on the wrong sides of the doors by the manufacturer so they bind on the ceiling, but at least they did not do that to you

I started off making a disk.

Then I remebered it needed a smaller shank to slide into the drill, so remade it.

Started with very rusty 90mm round bar and just skimmed the rust off.

A lot of chips were made turning this down!

My liferaft boxes are becoming popular, well I have made about 5 now
This one was for an angling and pleasure trip boat that is licensed to carry 12 passengers and thus needed a 14 man liferaft. The rules have recently changed for some reason and now they have to carry a 16 man liferaft which is quite a bit bigger so instead of trying to alter the stainless tubular cradle the skipper decided to get me to make one of my Aluminium ones. This one used almost a full sheet of 6mm Alu where normally I would get two out of a sheet. It measures 1100mm x 750mm and 500mm high.
