How do you clean the dust out the pipe work.... ultrasound and a " Gnasher " style flue brush on fibre glass rods and a big vacuum cleaner ?
Recently I discovered both the ceiling flush mounted extractor flexi hoses are full of dust & moisture as the 3/4 hrs timer over run is not enough to fully dry the wet room so warm moist air percolates up & out the bungalow via them , condensing once it's gone through the roof void insulation when it's cold weather .
FIL in Canada had an electro static cleaning element block in a steel sealed cabinet 18 inches high x 12 x 12 inches for their heat exchanger system .It's due a good clean, I usually use a soft brush on rods as you describe, it doesn't seem to need it doing often but the heat exchanger needs at least an annual clean, that gets blown out with compressed air.

He took it out on the first of every month washed it in the sink in warm soapy water , rinsed it in clean warm , dried in the sun or by the heating plant and put it back the next day . No dust in the house at all but the return air ducts attracted the dust in the air electrostatically to the ductings internal side , so from down in the cellar area once every October they had all the pipes cleaned & sucked through with the contractor using their own very strong vacuum machine . I was amazed at the amount of dust that came out of the system ..almost a 4 gallon bucket full

Snap , I have yet to turn a thread to a shoulder … whimp that I am .Nice work, looks like a really smooth thread, this is a job I have to tackle, lack of a follow rest and pure wimpy cowardice prevent me attempting it yet!
A furry"pig" pulled through the ducts is often used. First blow/ suck a draw cord through.

Think laterally. Cut away from the shoulder. You obviously need to position the tool on a rear toolpost and upside down for a right hand thread. You can rattle out threads quickly with this method.
