Totally not welding or metal or even wood work related.... But in 2008 I found I have an intolerance to garlic, this lead to a change of diet, eating out became almost impossible unless having ham egg and chips or a steak.
Over time I managed to find things I can eat to replace most things, but not a good old donner kebab. So finally today I made one and it was glorious View attachment 210044
My pal has exactly the same as you, only he becomes violently sick within minutes of eating anything with garlic in it. He ALWAYS get the waiter to check with the chef if a dish has garlic in it, mostly he has to settle for fish & chips, but some even add a little to beer batter for instance.
Also, if you read the ingredients list in many things of the s/market shelves you'll find 'garlic salt' mentioned.
