Parkin, haven’t had any for a long time, my mother used to make it, my wife has as well. Not for a long time though, from what I recall hasn’t it got a sort of “gritty” texture, or am I thinking of something else. It’s good though

Started working on the mag drill
I got it for because the gear housing is cracked
I've disassembled the drill in it's bigger components
Essentially I've made the drill to divorce from the magnetic stand
I've reassembled the gear housing using some zip ties and my vise to keep the parts together and I gave power while it was secured in the vise
It works pretty well
I have to make an enclosure (more likely a clamping device) to keep the parts together ,an additional bracket to reduce the stress on the drill .
I can make an AVE style review

Today I made an extension for a rotary spool valve, forgot to take a pic of the top handle part.
A delrin cover with seal for where the extension exits the housing.
Chopped up 12m of 50mm x 1.5mm wall 316 tube, some with single angled ends, others with two ends angled and some just straight, also some 40mm x 5mm flat bar which I rounded the end corners and some angled support webs.
All for the Mackerel stripper boxes which I will hopefully get back to on Monday.

I made a start on a pedestal for my recently acquired 8" Bench Grinder.
I finished trimming the sheet metal I had guillotined yesterday...
...bent the flanges over and checked all the pieces line up...
... and clamped the top and bottom in position.
Hope to get a few tack welds on tomorrow and then finish off incorporating some ideas given in my other post on the subject.

I made some progress on a cross slide for my ancient lathe. It is probably not the way it should be but if it gets it to be able to remove material it's good enough for me!
That assembly looks like it'll do the job, but that leadscrew looks far too course for a cross slide.
