What does the sulphur do? please explain

It acts as a glue to hold the tang to the handle.
It is the traditional way to fix handles to tools.

Had the welder out for the first time in many, many months today. Turns out I had left the bottle turned on Very odd, I usually turn it off, fortunately after all those months of sitting it hadn't emptied itself
setting up the tiny cage door to weld was a bit of a pain.

As was setting up the little cage, getting everything square was a pain.

Also welded up some flanges (made them out of 4 bits of 5mm bar, was struggling to get a nice bend on them so decided it was easier to put them on a right angle mag clamp and weld them from separate bits) and attached them to their respective bits of metal.

10 points to whoever guesses what they are for.

The turntable is apparently a Nissan option but for the driver's seat. The way he's configured the interior he wanted the passenger's seat to do the 'Captain's Chair' impersonation, so all that was required was to raise it by the about 10 mm, a combination of reducing the t/table mounts and adding cross 'beams' to mated with the existing seat fixing points. As I understand it, it started life as a very basic van [e.g no passenger airbag, which surprised me.... but it was MOT'd for 12 months when he bought it from the Dealer.]

Bits I did under his direction are stronger than the original mountings, short of testing to destruction I couldn't make any impact on the finished mounting so we have no concerns re safety of the very few passengers he carries. Even his dog is in a harness, so he's very safety aware - not just in case of injury to his pet but removes driver distraction etc.

EDIT: Lazy day, dog walking after the Meddings belt was tightened, guard shortened, did a bit of rebuilding of the Flymo - then there was snooker to watch, F1 highlights etc.
He's heading off home in the morning, it's been good to catch up and who knows when we might get the chance for the foreseeable, what with the Covid uncertainty.

I have the same van as your pal, the interior is still very much a work in progress and I'm always looking for ideas and inspiration so I'd love to see what he's done to his if he wouldn't mind.

I've taken a few pics of his set-up, but will PM you in the next few days as they're still in the phone and it'd be rude to ignore him while he's visiting, or bore the rest of the lads with the minutia of vans. [not really my thing either, other than when I might want one to collect a bargain I spot but can't get in the car.... ]

Next Saturday will be fine for me, we can firm things up by PM as to times etc. I'll send those pics over for you to have a look at.

Lighting in the last picture is a bit poor, but we're happy with how it looks frees up some cupboard space for her cookery books, which frees up space on the windowsill by the sink, which pleases me greatly.

Went to the urologists this morning and later driving school
Made my instructor begin mad
My house is at the end of a narrow alley , where a turbodaily won't leave more than 5 inches both sides .
I was pretty confident that I could put the car into it since I've drove my brother's A4 Avant into the alley without too much difficult.
At some point the instructor said me "drive home "
He said , I done .
Once in front of the alley there were cars behind us ,he said to park on the left ,the alley was on my left
I've precisely drove the car inside in less time than the instructor could understand that we were already completely inside and parallel to the walls .
He got upset because he had to bring the car out

After ten minutes he still was there , I've had to drove the car out
