I like how the tops of the gates compliment the lantern pole, reminds me of the stereo typical shepherds' crook as used by Little Bo Peep in the kids books and animations.

Last night, I made this mower come apart. Not sure how to fix it yet.
Last silage cut, this mower was making a horrible unbalanced vibration. We put it down to the conditioner, changed all the bolts etc, but didn't improve things. Didn't see anything else wrong, so just decided to run with it.
Anyway, dad was cutting away and all of a sudden something went "bang" and the vibration stopped... with the end disc not spinning and sitting at a funny angle.
We think this is what happened:
The end discs have "top hats" to guide the grass in. The end top hat lost its cap a while back, and filled up with grass. The last time it was washed, the grass probably packed itself to one side, and then this year, it started the season unbalanced.
At roughly 3000rpm, the imbalance caused the whole disc, carrier and gear assembly to crack and rip itself out of the bed. Once the assembly came out of gear mesh, it let the rest of the mower run smoothly.
The mower wanted rid of that horrible vibration, and it did... by partially ejecting the disc
I should be able to weld it up back into mesh one way or another, but haven't been able to inspect the gears for damage properly yet.
Lesson learned - never run disc mowers without caps on the top hats, and never leave grass in them if you do!

Pressurewasher hose has some frost damage and is way too short.
Took the existing sleeve off in the lathe, and found
a piece of 15mm OD steeltube that slides over the rubber hose.
Rolled it up a bit so it has an edge to grip in a groove in the nozzle.
Hose crimper is a little to big for such a tiny hose.
But it works!
Would like it a little bit tigther because the nozzle could still rotate a little, I can only sqeeze it 0,5 a mm, but I reckon it wouldn't come off with cold water.
After this I took it off again, will take it to the shop to buy a ten meter hose, and if they have the proper sleeves and crimper have them do it.
Still nice to know I can do it myself if need be.

Not a Norbert to be had up here....not even for ready cash, so hole filled with bona fide stone, all 800+kilos of the lovely stuff.
I’ll need another full bag to complete everything I want to do, but I’ll leave it until next month. Digging holes is not my true mission in life.

I confesse
This is not all my work.
I have had some input, but the hard work was undertaken by 2 members on MIS Over a few days, dodging the weather, a trip to the north.
Lots of coffee (One person has to be different and have tea) I bribe with choccy Hob Nobs.
A old mower, rusty most major bits are there.
But Not English.
It has come a long way.
The worm has not.
Mulling over a coffee, 2 Mini MIS members wanted to "do Something" were they had to do it all. But they knew help would be needed, but wanted to do as much as they could.
So.
In Bits.
There is no:
On Line help.
No Pictures.
No "Good Book."
No magic help line.
But They had a TYA, coffee and pie n chips.
The machine did not come to bits with out much thinking. I found it hard not to jump in, when I wanted to I made coffee.
Less than 20 Nuts and bolts. But they found out it wasn't a case of undo everything and you get a pile of bits.
Time has seen to a few bolts, but only were grass had been allowed to sit.
To be honest, they came to bits with a bit of a fight. But it was the citric acid bath what did for them.
The tools used.
2 screwdrivers, 2 adjustable, hammer and one small punch.
This add most in bits.
The bottom blade needed a lesson on "Impact Driver" Oh Granddad had one of those brass blow torch. Oh WD40 doesn't work as fast as I thought.
We had a "Oh Bother."
No, not from a heavy hammer blow, or being dropped.
Removed from the citric left in the sun and "PING" it was in bits.
Mad dash to the north, and we are fixed.
The small part to the LHS was found to have a crack, from years of use.
