This came in today,please straighten it he said,so how to extract it.For those not familiar it’s a power take off shaft for transmitting rotation from the transaxle of a tractor to a rear implement to drive another gearbox such as a mower.it will get straightened on the fly press so it can telescope to increase/decrease operational length.

Tried to remove some paint. Year ago bought a lidl sand blaster. I knew it would be rubbish. It came with 2kg of alu oxide. It couldnt touch paint. I reused the grit about 5 times. Blaster is going in the bin but the grit will be useful.

Started a new job today,railings,mostly curved,using 30/8 flat,and my portable rollers.will update when completed.

In the time it probably took you to separate that, you could have had the roll pins knocked out and two new lengths of tube fitted, without any risk of not getting it perfectly straight and destroying UJs/gearboxes should it bind and not slide under load.

I've never bothered straightening pto tubes, if it's spinning at 540 or 1000 rpm it wonr take much to shake itsself to bits, or it'll end up binding up and not telescoping, had that on a mower once, instead of the tube alighting in it jammed up and pushed the gearbox off the mower.

As above, new tubes probably cost less than any time spent straightening bent tubes. And way easier to just knock pins out than try separate bent bits. I don't mess with ptos, if it's broken I replace it, had one let go when stirring slurry and it nearly took the back end of the tractor out.

Having flailed f*** out of the drawbar of a hired slurry tanker a few weeks back I'd agree...

Just not worth the risk of repairing!

Having flailed f*** out of the drawbar of a hired slurry tanker a few weeks back I'd agree...

Just not worth the risk of repairing!

Our slurry tanker is the only thing that bends PTOs. It has too high a drawbar and PTO for our tractors, we can't run with the arms right down, and we have to watch when turning that the arms don't foul the PTO. Royal PITA and expensive too

Are you both running identical ploughs? I've never figured out how people get bouts to match when running different ploughs. It's hard enough setting one plough up... Or maybe it's just our worn out old crap and lack of ability

Both lemkens on bs40 bodies which helps, we used to run a Dowdeswell beside the big lemken and we could match OK. Got a couple of other colours coming on demo so will see how they match

Is the key thing the furrow width, for matching? Or do you both run different widths?

The Dowdeswell was fixed at 14" and I pretty much had to run the same for it too match, both lemken are hydraulic vari width so we alter them a fair bit depending on conditions but generally run them similar to help with matching.

Getting prepared for an incoming rainstorm .
Already rained today for good 4 hours the roads were like rivers .
It will rain again probably around our local 11pm (yours 10pm ) .
Little bit concerned about getting flooded in the middle of the night .
Closed the doors and the windows ,put rags under the doors.
